- Less than 2 months after achieving a new world record for tandem solar cell effectiveness of 33.2%, KAUST scientists have actually introduced an enhancement to this number by getting to a power conversion effectiveness of 33.7% for a perovskite-silicon solar cell.
The result was reportedly licensed by the European Solar Test Installation (ESTI).
The 1 cm2 cell likewise achieved an open-circuit voltage of 1.974 V, a short-circuit current density of 20.99 mA/cm2, and also a fill aspect of 81.3%.
KAUST Professor Erkan Aydin made the announcement on its LinkedIn account, additionally stating that "This achievement is an excellent synergy along with Esma Ugur, Thomas Allen, and the entire KPV-Lab group of KAUST Solar Center (KSC). KPV-Lab is headed by Stefaan De Wolf".
