Chinese Risen Energy Sets New HJT Solar Module Output Efficiency World Record
- Chinese solar module maker Risen Energy has claimed a new world record for their HJT series solar module, Hyper-ion, with a maximum power of 741.456W and a module efficiency of 23.89%. This is an important breakthrough in the sustainable energy industry.
What happened?
Risen Energy, a Chinese solar module maker, has announced that its HJT series solar module called ‘Hyper-ion’ has achieved a maximum power of 741.456W and a module efficiency of 23.89%. This result was verified by TÜV SÜD, a global provider of testing, inspection and certification services. This marks a new record for the highest power and highest module efficiency of HJT solar modules, beating the previous record of 23.65% module efficiency achieved in December 2021.
Why does it matter?
This improvement in efficiency is due to technological innovations like ultra-thin wafer, zero busbar technology, Hyper-link interconnection and encapsulation material. The module also features a stable temperature coefficient and a high bifaciality of up to 85% with variability of 10%, capable of maintaining its power output above 90% after 30 years of use. Furthermore, the module has a carbon footprint value (CFP) lower than 400kg eq CO2/kWc, which is below the market average.
What's next?
In April 2022, Risen Energy launched a line-up of building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) products including Super Top and Super Tile, and its latest heterojunction (HJT) offering, Hyper-ion. Additionally, the company signed an agreement with Ningbo South Coastal Economic Development have for a 15 GW N-type ‘Ultra-Low-Carbon High-efficiency’ hetero-junction cells factory and a 15 GW ‘high-efficiency’ solar module production facility last year. These developments are likely to further push the boundaries of sustainable energy solutions and help promote the era of carbon neutrality.
