Serentica Renewables has partnered with Greenko Group to utilise 1,500 MWhr capacity from upcoming projects in India, leveraged by investments from KKR. This landmark deal will enable Serentica to supply clean energy to hard-to-abate industries and reduce 37M tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Centrica Business Solutions acquires development rights to 65-MW battery storage facility in Scotland. This two-hour battery will provide enough clean energy to meet the demand of 130,000 homes. Scheduled for grid connection in 2028, it forms part of Centrica's drive to deliver 1GW of low-carbon energy.

Sungrow has been chosen to provide equipment for a 100MW/260MWh battery energy storage system project in the UK. Penso Power, BW ESS and Sungrow have formed a JV to deliver multiple storage systems, with the first planned for Bramley, Hampshire in 2024.

Eolus has made an investment decision for its 100MW stand-alone battery storage project, Pome. Located in San Diego County, California, the project is set to come online in Q4 2024 with a capacity of 100MW/400MWh. It's part of a booming US market, following the Inflation Reduction Act, and makes up part of Eolus’s total project portfolio.

Imerys and British Lithium are partnering to mine battery-grade lithium carbonate in Cornwall. The venture could create 300 jobs and supply 500,000 electric cars with the component by 2030. Supported by UK government and Innovate UK, the project builds on Cornwall's mining heritage and could help secure the future of the car industry.

BlackRock has raised $500 million to build the largest grid-scale battery project in the Southern Hemisphere, with 850 megawatts and 1680 megawatt-hours of capacity. Rio Tinto is also increasing demand for battery metals to meet the goals of the Glasgow Climate Pact.

Glennmont, Nuveen, Ilmatar, Alfen and Piiparinmäki team up to construct a 30MW battery storage project in Central Finland. Statkraft has been awarded a contract to build a 47 MW solar power plant and 16 MW battery storage facility in Zerbst, Germany. This project, expected to commence in summer 2025, will provide energy to power around 14,000 households. Part of Statkraft's ambitious growth targets, the firm also secured a 500 MW offshore wind project in Ireland.

Pacific Energy has been awarded a contract to integrate 62MW of clean energy into an existing power system at an Australian gold mine. The hybrid power system will reduce emissions by 50% and feature in-house control systems, BESS, HV Switch Room & PV ring main units. Works start in July 2021, completion in early 2025.

Panasonic's latest EverVolt Home Battery System offers 18 kWh of LFP battery capacity and up to 30 kW of power with the SmartBox energy management system. Easily integrate with solar systems and generators and switch to battery backup with the SmartBox in case of a power outage. Available Fall 2023.

Yadlamalka Energy has commissioned Australia's first 2-MW/8-MWh vanadium flow battery (VFB) as part of the AUD-22-million Spencer Energy project. With funding from ARENA, the battery will charge from solar energy and off-peak grid imports. A milestone for Australia's energy storage market, Spencer Energy is revolutionising renewable energy technology.

DNV has supported Solar Pacific Energy Corporation (SPEC) in a $29 million solar and storage project in Palau. Our expertise ensured the complicated hybrid solar and battery system was successfully installed on Babeldoab island, providing 20% of Palau's energy needs. Eunice Energy Group is leading a consortium to create the Crete-Aegean Hydrogen Valley (CRAVE-H2) project. The EUR 11 million project will use renewable electricity to produce 500 tonnes of green hydrogen annually and cover the entire value chain. European Commission and Clean Hydrogen Partnership co-finance EUR 8 million.
