- TrueRE Oriana Power secures EPC for a 234‑MW floating solar landmark at Maithon Dam, Jharkhand—India’s largest—powering 500 GWh yearly, cutting 400,000 tonnes CO2 with 10-year O&M and advanced mooring.
TrueRE Oriana Power won an EPC contract from state-owned Damodar Valley Corporation to build a 234-MW floating solar project on the Maithon Dam reservoir in Jharkhand, expected to be India’s largest. The plant is projected to generate 500 GWh annually and offset roughly 400,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
Awarded via competitive tender, the deal includes 10 years of operations and maintenance. TrueRE will deploy customized anchoring and mooring to withstand currents and keep arrays aligned. Founder Parveen Jangra called it a milestone. Noida-based TrueRE has 1 GW commissioned or under construction and is expanding into storage, green hydrogen and e-fuels.
