- TNB accelerates renewable energy deployment with 2.5 GW hybrid hydro-floating solar project on dam reservoirs, partnering with state agencies for National Energy Transition Roadmap.

Malaysian utility TNB is expediting its plan to deploy 2.5 GW of hybrid hydro-floating solar capacity on its hydro dam reservoirs. The company will start with 30 MW at the Chenderoh Hydro reservoir and then move on to installations at the Temenggor and Kenyir Hydro reservoirs. TNB is working with state agencies like PKNPk and TI on this initiative, which is part of the National Energy Transition Roadmap.
The HHFS project is inspired by the success of a floating solar pilot at the Stesen Janakuasa Sultan Azlan Shah in Perak, which has generated over 600 MWh of electricity since 2019. TNB aims to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy sources in Malaysia through this initiative.
