Tigo Energy files IP infringement lawsuit against SMA Solar
- Module-level power electronics vendor Tigo Energy has filed an intellectual property (IP) infringement lawsuit in the United States against inverter producer SMA Solar Technology America.

The problem covers 6 licenses and also is focused on systems and also techniques used in module-level rapid shutdown devices that are affixed to PV panels.
The problem declares that SMA and also some of its vendors copied Tigo advancements that abide by rapid shutdown requirements.
Germany-headquartered SMA Solar got a 27% risk in Tigo Energy in 2016, getting unique civil liberties to worldwide sales of the company's TS4 retrofit item.
SMA Solar declined to talk about the lawsuit when called by PV Tech.
While SMA's sales for 2021 were listed below expectations as a result of a lack of electronic chips, the company announced last month it plans to dual production capacity at its Germany head office to 40GW by 2024.
