New Leaf Energy has unveiled a 64-MW portfolio of battery storage projects in Texas. The projects include seven standalone batteries located in the south and coastal region of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, within the territories of utilities AEP and Centerpoint. They are expected to have executable interconnection agreements in place by January 2024, with commercial operation dates anticipated in 2025. All of the schemes will use solid-state lithium iron phosphate batteries. Three of the projects have 9.99 MW/19.98 MWh of capacity, with details pending for the remaining four. New Leaf Energy has invited parties interested in learning more about the projects to contact them via email.
