Equinor has launched a 60-MW solar park in Poland's Pomerania province. Spread across 55 ha, Zagorzyca features 110,000 solar panels and is estimated to generate 61 GWh/year. Equinor's Danske Commodities is marketing the solar farm's power to the Polish market. The company is also developing Lipno with expected completion in 2024. SKF, a leading Swedish bearing manufacturer, has partnered with Enel to agree a 15-year virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) from a solar project in Spain. Offering 260GWh/year of renewable electricity, the VPPA will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support renewable energy growth.

This year, a $2.4 million solar park at the Pieve Emanuele, Italy production facility is set to help decarbonize operations and reduce carbon emissions by 1,450 tons annually. Surplus electricity generated outside the plant will be used by locals. Set to start operating by the end of this year.

Equinor has commissioned its second Polish solar plant, Zagórzyca. Developed and operated by the Polish renewable power producer Wento, the 60MW facility is part of Equinor's 1.6GW solar pipeline and is supported by Danske Commodities' electricity sales. 500 people were involved in the construction of the 55 hectare plant. Zabka Group has signed a 10-year PPA with Modus Asset Management, supplying 50 GWh of electricity annually from 65 MW of solar parks. The agreement marks Modus Asset Management's entry into the Polish PPA market and will help Zabka reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 25% and carbon intensity by 70% by 2026.

Ilmatar, a Nordic developer, has secured land for a proposed 350MW solar farm in Grums, Sweden. Working with local landowners, the farm will be one of the largest in Sweden, using timber forest damaged by bark beetles. Christian Gustafsson, Ilmatar's CEO, looks to expand renewable energy for Sweden with the project. Anders Bergenheim, a local landowner, is excited about the collaboration.

Northvolt has secured a $400M investment from IMCO to expand their battery production capacity, with a focus on clean energy manufacturing, regional sourcing, and closed-loop circularity through recycling. This investment supports meaningful capital deployment for the energy transition and managing ESG risks.

Alight has signed a PPA with Axfood for the largest solar park in Sweden, unlocking non-recourse project financing. SEB will provide the debt financing to build the 64MW park, which will be operational in 2024 and feature initiatives to promote biodiversity.

Grenergy Renovables SL, a Spanish renewables developer-operator, has agreed to sell its 150 MWp Belinchon solar power facility in Cuenca to a European IPP. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year, with a net profit of EUR 83 million. This is the first milestone of the Valkyria initiative, with 1.1 GW of solar assets to dispose of in Spain and a pipeline of 14 GW, including 1.8 GW of assets and 10 GWh of energy storage projects.

Voltalia has officially inaugurated its largest solar park to date in the UK. South Farm Solar Park has a capacity of 49.9MW, enough to cover half of the City of London Corporation's electricity needs. The project is funded by Santander UK and contributes to the City of London Corporation's energy transition away from fossil fuels.
