Photon Energy Energizes 3.9-MWp Solar Farm in Romania

Amsterdam-based renewables developer Photon Energy has connected a 3.9 MWp solar farm to the Romanian grid, increasing its total installed capacity in the country to over 35 MWp. The solar farm, located near Faget, Timis County, covers 6.6 hectares and is equipped with 7,280 bifacial photovoltaic modules. It is expected to produce around 5.8 GWh of electricity per year. Photon Energy will sell the electricity on the energy market and anticipates revenues of around EUR 550,000 in 2024. The company's Romanian subsidiary built the solar farm, and its fully owned special purpose vehicle will own and operate the plant.

With the addition of this solar farm, Photon Energy's portfolio in Romania now includes nine power plants with a total installed capacity of 35.4 MWp. The company also has four additional power plants with a combined installed capacity of 16.9 MWp under construction and expected to be commissioned in the coming months. Globally, Photon Energy's independent power producer portfolio consists of 97 solar farms with a total capacity of 127.3 MWp, spread across Central and Eastern Europe and Australia.
