Sweden's Midsummer ships CIGS solar cell production line to Russia
- Swedish thin-film solar modern technology firm Midsummer AB (STO: MIDS) claimed it has provided the initial solar cell production line to a consumer in Russia as part of its framework agreement with Russian innovation team Rusnano.

The so-called DUO machine, a turnkey manufacturing system for flexible copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) solar cells without cadmium, was made in Midsummer's center in Jarfalla, Sweden. The maker was delivered last week to Saransk, a city located about 630 kilometres (391 miles) eastern of Moscow, where it will certainly be installed in a factor operated by the Nanotechnology as well as Nanomaterials Facility of the Republic of Mordovia in collaboration with solar roof coverings promoter Solartek.
A part of the structure contract, Midsummer and state-owned Rusnano will work to develop the non-silicon flexible photovoltaics market in Russia as well as the Eurasian Union. The DUO maker for the Saransk factory was the very first order performed under the arrangement.
