Renantis has commenced operations of the 9.7-MW solar agrivoltaic (agricultural-solar) plant in Scicli, Sicily. The 22-hectare site will host solar panels that will generate 20 GWh of electricity annually and facilitate crop planting. 68 local investors participated in a crowdfunding campaign and have the potential to receive an annual return of up to 6% on the original loan for 10 years, with early exit options. The project is expected to create job opportunities in the local area, while also supporting renewable energy production.
