Poland Springs bottling plant to be partly powered by a 10-MW solar center
- Nestlé Waters North America introduced last month that it plans to construct a 10-megawatt AC (12.97-megawatt DC) solar project at its Poland Spring bottling plant in Hollis, Maine. This recommended solar power installment would provide sufficient tidy electricity to satisfy roughly 20-25% of the current power demands of the center.
When total, the project would inhabit 47 acres of land, making it one of the biggest adjoining solar arrays in Maine, according to the business. The yearly greenhouse gas emission reductions from this project would be equivalent to producing enough sustainable electrical power to power 1,998 homes yearly, which is greater than the number of homes in the Town of Hollis.
" At Poland Spring, we have a reputable record of managing Maine's water resources properly as well as sustainably for the long-term." said Cameron Lorrain, Nestlé Waters North America Northeast Regional Technical & Production Director. "With this project, we are preparing to go additionally and also are proud to line up with the greenhouse gas discharge decrease objectives promoted by Governor Janet Mills and also just recently ordered in Maine law."
Industrial solar installer, EnterSolar, is the project designer. The civil engineers are Sevee & Maher Engineers.
Depending on timing for licenses from both the Town of Hollis and also the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, the proposed groundbreaking could start as quickly as April 2021, with project conclusion estimated for Spring 2022.
