Orsted is seeking community feedback on its proposed 320MW Kingfisher Solar Farm in East Yorkshire, which could be operational by 2030. The solar farm is planned on land three miles north of Beverley, near the A164. An initial non-statutory consultation began on February 3, with over 200 attendees at events in Lockington and Hutton Cranswick. Additional in-person events are scheduled in Cottingham and Beverley, alongside a virtual consultation. The project aims to use the same cable route as the Hornsea 4 Offshore Wind Farm, connecting to the national grid via the Creyke Beck substation.

As a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project, Kingfisher requires a Development Consent Order from the Planning Inspectorate. The development process, including DCO submission and examination, is anticipated to take two years, with construction expected to last two to three years if approved.
