Ceigall Signs 220-MW Solar PPA With BESS in MP

Ceigall India Limited said it has signed a power purchase agreement for a 220-MW solar project with co-located battery energy storage in Madhya Pradesh. The contract was awarded to Ceigall by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd on a tariff basis of INR 2.70 per kWh. Under the deal, Ceigall will build the plant and supply electricity to the joint venture of the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVN). The project’s estimated value is about INR 17 billion.

The Morena Solar Park will combine photovoltaic generation with a battery energy storage system. It is expected to be installed in roughly 18 months and operate for 25 years. Ceigall said the project will broaden its renewables footprint, adding to its existing utility-scale solar and BESS assets. In April, it secured 15 PPAs totaling 130 MW with Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited.
