Syrah Resources owns the system after a 10-year BOOT term.
Syrah Resources Ltd. has achieved full operations of a solar-plus-storage hybrid system at its Balama graphite operations in Mozambique. The installation includes an 11.25-MWp solar photovoltaic system and an 8.5-MW/MWh battery energy storage system. This hybrid system is estimated to reduce product carbon equivalent emissions by 13% and reduce diesel consumption. Solarcentury Africa Ltd and CrossBoundary Energy provided engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and financing services for the project. Syrah Resources will assume ownership of the system after a 10-year BOOT term.
