The arrangement was signed on Thursday at GECOL's head office in Tripoli with power manufacturer AG Energy, the state-owned company stated.

AG Energy, which creates energy projects in Africa with a focus on Libya, Algeria, Tunisia and Nigeria, obtained authorisation to set up a solar plant in the Ghadames municipality in January.

The project becomes part of the participation between GECOL and Libya's Renewable Energy Agency focused on enhancing the green energy capacity in the nation.
