Kunshan GCL Achieves Record 19.04% Efficiency on Perovskite Modules
- GCL's breakthrough in perovskite solar modules surpasses expectations, paving the way for a cutting-edge production line in Kunshan.
China-based GCL, through its subsidiary Kunshan GCL Photoelectric Materials, has achieved a photoelectric conversion efficiency of 19.04% on a 1,000mm x 2,000mm single-junction perovskite solar module. The result was officially tested by the China National Institute of Metrology. The GCL Perovskite team is pleased to have surpassed the expected conversion efficiency of 19% for standard-sized perovskite modules, moving closer to their efficiency target of 26% for a 2m² module.
In December 2023, Kunshan GCL Photoelectric Materials announced plans to establish a project in Kunshan related to perovskite and energy storage industries. The cooperation between GCL and Kunshan's government includes projects in perovskite, energy storage, digital energy, and digital technology financial center. With the government's support, GCL Perovskite aims to build the world's first large-scale 2GW perovskite production line in two phases, creating a billion-level industrial base.
