Iberdrola Signs 10-Year Wind-Solar PPA for Gestamp
- Iberdrola’s 10-year PPA with Gestamp delivers 660 GWh renewable power for European plants, backed by 34 MW wind/solar and guarantees of origin—fixed prices for electrifying industrial processes.
Iberdrola SA has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement with Gestamp Automocion SA to supply renewable electricity to the Spanish car-parts maker’s European plants. The deal is supported by 34 MW of wind and solar capacity and will deliver power certified with guarantees of origin to ensure it is fully renewable.
Under the PPA, Iberdrola will provide 660 GWh of electricity over the contract, generated from a mix of 80% wind and 20% solar, delivered across multiple Gestamp facilities. Gestamp gains long-term power supply at fixed prices for better cost visibility as it electrifies industrial processes. Iberdrola said the agreement adds to its expanding corporate PPA portfolio.
What does Iberdrola’s 10-year PPA with Gestamp cover, and how much renewable power?
What the 10-year PPA covers:
- A long-term supply contract in which Iberdrola delivers renewable electricity to Gestamp for its European manufacturing sites.
- Power is provided on a “renewable-only” basis using energy that can be backed by guarantees of origin (so the electricity supplied is certified as renewable).
- The generation mix is split between wind and solar, enabling Gestamp to receive a diversified renewable portfolio rather than relying on a single technology.
- The agreement spans multiple Gestamp facilities across Europe, supporting the company’s wider industrial electrification plans.
How much renewable power it provides:
- Total volume under the contract: 660 GWh delivered over the 10-year term.
- Supported renewable build/portfolio: 34 MW of wind and solar capacity tied to the PPA.
- Generation mix by technology: 80% wind and 20% solar, within the contracted renewable supply.
