Grenergy sends EIS for 40-MW solar project in Chile

- Spanish renewables firm Grenergy Renovables SL (BME: GRE) has applied for an environmental permit to establish a 40-MW solar PV project in Chile.
The project, referred to as Tamango, would certainly come with a financial investment of USD 33 million (EUR 28.1 m), Grenergy said in its ecological impact declaration (EIS).
The Tamango website is located in the region of Maule, specifically in the Retiro neighborhood. There, Grenergy would certainly set up more than 80,000 solar modules, each of 600 W, over a 74.41-hectare (183.9 acres) area.
According to the schedule offered in the EIS, building and construction would certainly start in June 2022. Industrial procedures are seen to start in February 2023.
The environmental agency for the Maule region this week accepted to review Grenergy's EIS, its project database programs.
