The portfolio, consisting of 22 projects, will be purchased from Pennsylvania-based solar developer Prospect14. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition supports Engie's commitment to renewable energy in a region with growing demand for distributed solar generation. Kristen Fornes, head of distributed solar and storage at Engie North America, emphasized the projects' alignment with the company's mission to provide sustainable, locally sourced energy. Engie North America had over 8.5 GW of renewable power and battery storage capacity under construction as of March.
