- Elsewedy Electric energizes its first Gulf solar milestone: the 348.6‑MWp El Saad plant near Riyadh enters O&M, backed by Saudi Power Procurement Company offtake and a new 33/132 kV substation.
Elsewedy Electric has completed its first Gulf solar project, delivering the 348.6-MWp El Saad plant in Saudi Arabia and moving it into operations and maintenance. The Egyptian firm’s transmission and distribution arm received the provisional acceptance certificate, signaling readiness. Construction took about 16 months at a site 85 kilometers east of Riyadh.
Output is fully contracted by Saudi Power Procurement Company. Elsewedy served as EPC for Jinko Power and Al Ghazala Energy Company, with OCA Global consultant and partners including Elsewedy Transformers, Alfanar, Siemens Energy and Schneider Electric Saudi Arabia. The project adds a 33/132 kV substation and 600-meter line.
