Developers signed agreements for solar hybrid mini grids in Nigeria

  • Two solar business signed a contract with the Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency to create solar mini grids in Nigeria.

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, authorized Performance Based Grant (PBG) arrangements under the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) to create solar crossbreed mini grids in four communities.

Nigerian renewable resource business Nayo Tropical Technology Ltd. is anticipated to attach regarding 800 houses, mini, small as well as average business (MSME) as well as public centers in Petti, Kilankwa and Kwali. Solar energy firm Darway Coast Nigeria Ltd. will certainly attach 1000 houses, MSMEs and also public facilities in Obite Community at Etche Local Government Area, Rivers State.

Head of the Project Management Unit of the NEP, Anita Otubu that coordinated the finalizing contract, said that applications are still being approved from tiny grid designers to aid in speeding up the advancement of tiny grid modern technology options to close the energy space in Nigeria.
