Cero Generation Powers Up 70-MW Agri-PV Plant

- Cero Generation and Macquarie's Green Investment Group have successfully launched the 70-MW Pontinia solar photovoltaic plant in Italy's Lazio region. The agrivoltaic project produces electricity for the grid and two virtual PPAs with Heineken NV and Philips, while also growing agricultural crops on 65% of its surface area.
On Thursday, the company announced the start of operation of its 70-MW Pontinia solar photovoltaic plant in the Lazio region of Italy. The project is an agrivoltaic, or agri-PV, plant, using 65% of the total surface area for agricultural crops. The plant also holds two virtual PPAs with Heineken NV and Philips, supplying 64 GWh/year and 16 GWh/year, respectively, to the Italian grid, while the companies receive guarantees of origin. The project was developed by Cero Generation, a portfolio company of Macquarie's Green Investment Group.
