Brazil's Unipar, Atlas Renewables form JV for 239-MWp solar project

- Brazilian chemical business Unipar Carbocloro SA (BVMF: UNIP6) claimed on Tuesday it had actually settled the process of creating a joint venture (JV) with an Atlas Renewable Energy subsidiary to protect a part possession in a 239-MWp solar park project in the state of Minas Gerais.

The transaction was launched in July 2021, when the parties concurred that Unipar was to obtain part of the shares provided by special objective entities (SPEs) held by Atlas Renewables to jointly develop the project.
On top of that, Unipar authorized a power acquisition arrangement (PPA) with the SPEs to obtain 49 MW standard from the jointly-owned solar park for its very own operations.
The solar park is presently incomplete in the municipality of Pirapora. Unipar expects to start obtaining the supply under the PPA in 2024, the firm said.
