Brazil's Maranhao appoints land for 5-MW solar project

- The Secretariat for Sector, Commerce as well as Energy (Seinc) of Brazil's Maranhao state has assigned land for a 5-MW solar photovoltaic or pv (PV) project to the neighborhood Court of Justice (TJ-MA).

The solar farm will be set up in an area of 70,000 sq m (753,473 sq ft), located on a roadway that links the municipalities of Sao Luis and also Sao Jose de Ribamar.
With 12,500 PV panels, the new plant's output will aid the government to significantly lower its power expenses, making better use public sources, Seinc stated on Monday.
Along with the supply of solar power, the PV project will contribute to Brazil's 2030 sustainable growth goal and also create a chance for students from public, primary and high schools to find out about sustainability and energy generation by going to the solar park.
