  • Berde Renewables inked supply deals with KCC Malls and Biotech Farms, highlighting the Philippines’ growing appetite for corporate solar power.

Corporate demand for clean power in the Philippines is rising, and Berde Renewables is one of the providers answering the call. The company has signed green-power supply agreements with retail operator KCC Malls and agro-industrial player Biotech Farms, underscoring how corporate PPAs are spreading beyond Metro Manila into regional growth hubs. Terms weren’t disclosed, but such contracts often blend fixed-price energy with optionality for on-site or nearby solar installations.

For mall operators, daytime loads align neatly with solar output—air conditioning, lighting, refrigeration—making PV a natural fit. Agriculture and food processing have similarly predictable daytime profiles, and on-site or dedicated off-site arrays can shave bills while bolstering sustainability credentials. As utilities modernize billing and metering, and as regulators clarify wheeling and net-metering rules, the addressable market for corporate solar continues to widen.

The Philippines’ grid challenges—congestion, outages, and price volatility—make long-term PPAs attractive hedges. Developers building portfolios of commercial and industrial clients can standardize designs and financing to deliver faster, often bundling operations and maintenance into all-inclusive service agreements. If Berde’s model scales, expect more regional retail and agribusiness clients to follow, accelerating the shift from diesel-backed reliability to clean, contracted power.
