Last week, the kingdom's Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) opened a tender to select a certified specialist to remediate a 2-sq km landfill site to prepare the plot for the building of the solar farm.

The winner in the auction will certainly be tasked with the layout as well as construction of a landfill gas extraction and also treatment system in addition to with land removal and the development of gas and leachate monitoring systems.

In a separate auction, EWA will certainly issue a request for proposals (RfP) for creating the solar plant which will be found on the remediated landfill site in Askar.
