Poland opens its second-largest solar farm at former coal mine, producing 220 GWh of clean energy annually to power 100,000 homes and reduce CO2 emissions. Renewables to provide 51% of electricity by 2040, with a nuclear power plant to be operational by 2030s.

Obton, a leading solar energy developer and investor, is set to build its first solar park in Sweden with 15MWp capacity. June 2021 marks the start of the project, with completion in 2025. Obton is overseeing studies, financing and construction, with plans for further solar projects in Sweden. With over 1.7 GWp of PV projects and 3.5 billion EUR in assets, Obton is a leader in the solar industry.

Mey Energy recently completed a 55 MW photovoltaic facility in Novaci, North Macedonia - the biggest solar power plant in the Western Balkans. Spanning 57 hectares and using 101,000 panels, it will produce 85 GWh of electricity annually, serving up to 30,000 households and enabling a transition away from coal. Larger solar power plants are in progress in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, and Albania.

JA Solar continues its commitment to advancing solar energy in Bangladesh, supplying 150 MW of photovoltaic modules to a 275-MW DC solar park, with completion expected by the end of 2023.
