X-ELIO receives environmental authorization for Spanish solar plant
- The new PV plant is anticipated to produce 748,000 MWh in its first year

Spain's Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge has granted a good Environmental Impact Statement to X-ELIO for a solar photovoltaic plant in Lorca.
X-ELIO's project formerly received environmental authorization in 2015, but has actually since adapted the project. This includes structure more than 15km of the evacuation line underground, reducing the line voltage to 132kV and downsizing the usable area of the project to 381ha.
The financial investment in Lorca will be 270m euros and around 300 jobs will certainly be created throughout the building of the plant, where local hiring will certainly be a concern as well as will involve SMEs from the towns of the region.
The center will have a set up capacity of 339 MW (386 MWp).
The new solar photovoltaic plant is expected to generate 748,000 MWh of 100% renewable as well as sustainable power during its first year of operation, sufficient to supply the annual demand of about 215,000 houses and also will protect against the emission of 148,328 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the environment.
