VSB Germany has partnered with municipal utility Stadtwerke Bitterfeld-Wolfen to develop a 19.3 MWp solar photovoltaic project near Bitterfeld-Wolfen in eastern Germany. A building application was submitted in April 2024, with approval anticipated by year-end. Once approved, Stadtwerke will have the option to purchase the project, which will cover an area of approximately 16 hectares (39.54 acres).

The solar facility will allow Stadtwerke Bitterfeld-Wolfen to sell 5 MWp of the generated capacity while VSB retains ownership of the remainder. Electricity generated will connect to the public grid via the future Salzfurtkapelle substation, providing additional budget benefits to Bitterfeld-Wolfen through compensations from Germany’s Renewable Energy Act at EUR 0.002 (USD 0.002) per kilowatt hour. The project is strategically located near the existing Loeberitz wind farm, leveraging infrastructure synergies.
