Voltalia do Brasil, a unit of French renewable power producer Voltalia SA, is planning to invest USD 3 billion in a project to produce green hydrogen and ammonia in the Brazilian state of Ceara. The project will be implemented at the Pecem industrial and port complex, with a pre-contract already signed between the Voltalia subsidiary and the state government.

This is the sixth pre-contract signed for the green hydrogen hub at Pecem, with more expected to be signed later this year. In addition, there have been 36 memoranda of understanding entered into with local and foreign companies. Voltalia do Brasil currently operates over 1,500 MW of wind and solar farms in Brazil's Northeast region.
