Vesper Energy Lights Up Ohio with 80-MW Solar Park

Vesper Energy has successfully launched an 80-MW solar photovoltaic park in Ohio, known as the Nestlewood plant. The solar farm covers 610 acres of rural land and consists of 300,000 modules on single-axis tracking systems. It is expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 16,000 homes annually.

The electricity produced by the solar park will be sold to an undisclosed online retailer through a purchase power agreement. Vesper Energy, formerly known as Lendlease Energy Development, began the Nestlewood project in 2017 and obtained permits from the Ohio Power Siting Board three years later. The operation of the solar farm is aimed at meeting the growing electricity demand in Ohio and the PJM region as coal-fired power stations are set to retire.
