Verano Energy buys 296 MWp of solar projects in Colombia
- Latin America-focused renewables designer Verano Energy has gotten 3 solar projects totalling some 296 MWp in Colombia, regional media reported today citing the firm's press release.

Chile-based Verano expects construction of these projects to require investments of over USD 300 million (EUR 275.2 m), according to the reports.
The projects are the 270-MWp Las Palmeras in the Colombian division of Cesar, the 13-MWp Chicala in Atlantico and also the 13-MWp Bambu in Santander. The solar farms are anticipated to go on the internet between 2024 and 2026, the records said.
"As a firm, we are moving from being just a solar programmer and also EPC to an IPP (independent power producer), which means we will certainly purchase and possess our very own projects," Verano Energy CEO Dylan Rudney was priced quote as saying.
Verano Energy has some 1,029 MW of projects in Colombia, according to figures on its website. The company is also active in Chile, Peru as well as Argentina.
