Vattenfall to construct 4.4MW solar park near Stockholm
- Swedish Vattenfall will be constructing a huge solar array 70 kilometers north of the capital – in the city of Uppsala.
The Uppsala project will be among the biggest solar parks in Sweden. The total capacity of the plant is estimated at approximately 4.4 megawatts. It will comprise 11 thousand modules and cover the area of approximately 70 thousand sq meters.
The tender for the project was launched by the real estate giant – Vasakronan Group.
The Swedish state-run energy company’s scope of work includes designing, installing and operating the solar array. The project commissioning is to be finished by June of the current year.
According to U.Jardfelt, head of Heat Sweden (BU of Vattenfall), the company finds incredible pride in having won the auction for construction of one of the biggest Swedish solar parks. The firm claims to be able to offer a wide range of competitive solutions for renewable energy. They hope that within a one-generation period these solutions will allow them and their clients to become totally independent of fossil fuels.
