TotalEnergies has started commercial operations of its largest solar farm, Myrtle, in Houston, Texas. The 380MW solar farm is accompanied by 225 megawatt hours of battery storage facility. 70% of the capacity will be used to supply electricity to TotalEnergies' industrial sites in the US Gulf Coast region. The remaining 30% of the capacity will be sold to Kilroy Realty under a 15-year corporate power purchase agreement. The solar farm comprises 705,000 ground-mounted photovoltaic panels and was built in compliance with the Inflation Reduction Act Tax Credit mechanisms. It is part of the company's Go Green Project and will enable TotalEnergies to cover its power needs and reduce Scope 1+2 emissions of its industrial sites. Vincent Stoquart, Senior Vice President, Renewables, expressed his pride in the company's achievement in building an integrated and profitable position in the US electricity grid.
