TERI Issue Tender for Battery Energy Storage System in Delhi
- A few weeks ago, TERI raised tenders to commission Battery Energy Storage Systems on turnkey.
Recently, the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), has released an announcement for the launch of Battery Energy Storage Systems. These systems will be used in turnkey energy basis under the UI-ASSIST program with the BSES Rajdhani in Delhi. The developer that wins the bidding process will be in charge of the site survey, design, planning, transportation to site, engineering, etc, of the BESS. The chosen developer will be obligated to sign a Comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contract (CAMC) for 5 years from the date of launch.
Details on the objective behind the project have been passed by the institute. According to the institute, the project is about the massive infiltration of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) like rooftop solar into the Distribution Network (DN).
To be qualified for the bidding process, a bidder is required to have a minimum of three years’ experience in implementing the contract of BESS globally. A total average yearly turnover of the firm in the last three financial years should be at least Rs 10 Crore. Bidders are also expected to have experience in the installation and operationalized use of a battery energy storage system with a capacity of 125 kW for 2 hours or more. A single grid interactive battery storage system should be about 50 kW for 2 hours capacity or, more. The last for bidders to submit to submit their proposal is on the 17th day of January 2019. Meanwhile, the techno-commercial bid will commence on the 20th day of January 2019.
