TagEnergy's Jamesfield Battery Powers Up Scotland

Portugal-based TagEnergy and Harmony Energy have successfully energized their 49-MW/98-MWh Jamesfield battery energy storage system in Scotland. The facility, equipped with Tesla Megapack lithium-ion batteries and Autobidder AI software, was commissioned gradually starting last November and construction was completed early last month. UK-based RES will serve as the site's asset manager.

TagEnergy, with support from investors Mirova and Omnes, secured GBP 12.5 million in financing for the project from Spanish lender Santander. The Jamesfield BESS is the third battery project in the UK for TagEnergy, following the Hawkers Hill Energy Park in Dorset and Chapel Farm BESS near Luton. These projects bring TagEnergy's secured portfolio in the UK to 320 MW/640 MWh, including projects under construction.
