New South Wales government has approved the construction of the Blind Creek Solar Farm, a 350-MW Solar Park with a 300MW/600MWh battery storage capacity. This USD368.6 million project will create 135,000 home-equivalent energy and offset 740,000 tonnes of CO2 annually. It will also include regenerative agriculture and benefit sharing scheme for local residents.

Over a gigawatt of battery storage has been proposed in a plan to make it possible for the larger rollout of renewables by Powercor, owner as well as operator of an electrical power distribution network offering greater than 800,000 customers in the Australian state of Victoria.

Australia’s state-run renewable energy financier, Clean Energy Finance Corp (CEFC) will shift gears over the next 12 months to prioritise investments in grid stability and large-scale energy storage, according to its latest funding update.
