Swift Current Closes Financing on Record US Solar Project

Swift Current Energy has completed financing on the 800-MW DC/593-MW AC Double Black Diamond Solar project, located near Springfield in Illinois. It is the second largest single phase solar project in the US and the largest in the MISO area, and is able to generate power equivalent to the needs of more than 100,000 homes per year. The project financing includes USD 695 million (EUR 635m) in construction and tax equity bridge loans and an USD-84-million letter of credit facility. Constellation will buy a portion of the power and RECs generated by the project to serve seven customers. McCarthy Building Companies Inc will serve as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the project.
