SUN Energy to purchase 100-MW solar farm in Australia
- Singapore-based SUN Energy today introduced a contract to get a 100-MW solar farm located in Western Australia from Chinese company Risen Energy (SHE:300118).

The Merredin solar farm, commissioned in August 2020, is the most significant solar power plant in operation in the state. With an annual outcome of 274 GWh, the facility generates enough electricity to supply concerning 42,000 homes in the area.
The project also has the approval to amount to 20 MW/40 MWh of battery energy storage space onsite. SUN Energy and also Risen Energy will collectively service the advancement of the battery storage space system after the offer shuts.
Local mining team BHP has an offtake contract for 50% of the solar farm's outcome, while Sunshot Energy has a contract for the offtake of large-scale generation certificates (LGCs) produced by the center.
Risen Energy will continue to be responsible for the procedures and management of the solar farm after the sale.
