Summit Ridge Energy completes 2.5-MW community solar project in Maryland
- Summit Ridge Energy (SRE) as well as Cedar Ridge Community Church held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 30 to celebrate the completion of a 2.5 MWdc community solar project in Montgomery County, Maryland.
TurningPoint Energy created the project under the State of Maryland's Community Solar Pilot Program. The range was improved Cedar Ridge Community Church's (CRCC) home and also will give thousands of subscribed homes with reduced regular monthly energy prices.
" As a community of hope we are delighted to devote eight acres of our building to solar energy," said Matthew Dyer, lead pastor at CRCC. "It's a practical and also crucial expression of our desire to play our part in producing a sustainable future for this beautiful earth most of us enjoy and rely on."
SRE has the market share of Maryland's community solar projects (90 MWDC) operating under the state's Community Solar Pilot Program. Upon conclusion, their portfolio will power around 12,500 local residences and companies. Virtually one-third of the projects will serve low-to-moderate revenue (LMI) customers, highlighting the sector's unique ability to provide renewable resource savings to Americans of all socioeconomic histories.
"We're proud to have partnered with CRCC and TurningPoint Energy and are thrilled to increase renewable energy access to low-income Marylanders," stated Brian Dunn, COO of SRE.
