Steag Solar Energy Solutions (SENS) has actually set up nearly 10,000 solar panels on the site of the previous NATO base in the town of Xanten where anti-aircraft missiles were stationed till 1989. The solar park is expected to supply 4.4 million kWh of green electricity to the Lower Rhine Region, which is equal to the annual consumption of some 1,250 families. The facility will certainly offset 1,625 tonnes of carbon emissions every year.

The advancement, building and appointing of the park were implemented by SENS together with regional solar designer Sol In One GmbH on behalf of Enni Solar GmbH, a subsidiary of regional power distributor Enni Energie & Umwelt GmbH.

Previously this month, SENS got authorization to develop a 50-MWp solar park in East Anglia's Norfolk region. The solar ranch will certainly be paired with a battery storage facility of as much as 15 MWh.
