  • The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is looking for contractors for the development as well as building of a 100-MW solar park project in Sri Lanka's Uva province.

With a tender launched recently, the regulatory authority aims to pick a designer to mount the capacity on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis, with the scope of work including style, financing, supply, building, testing, commissioning, operation and also maintenance. Along with the solar (PV) park the tender covers the building and construction of a 132-kV transmission line.

Interested events will certainly be able to send their bids by October 21. According to the tender notification, the proposals will certainly be opened promptly after completion of the entry deadline.

The solar farm is prepared to be mounted on rented land situated in the Siyambalanduwa department of Moneragala District. Once in operation, it will certainly be run through a 20-year power acquisition agreement (PPA) with CEB.

Under its 2019-2025 renewable energy growth programme, Sri Lanka intends to add 1.5 GW of solar PV capacity by end-2025, of which 1 GW will certainly come from large-scale projects.
