- See Team Peak Evolution conquer Ojos del Salado volcano with their solar-powered truck! Witness the world record breaking mission with 10.7 kW solar modules and two 120 kW electric motors. Gebrüder Weiss is providing logistical support for this challenging venture.
Team Peak Evolution, consisting of three Swiss developers, is on a mission to conquer the Ojos del Salado volcano in Chile with their "solar truck". The vehicle is fitted with solar modules that generate a maximum power of 10.7 kilowatts and two 120 kW electric motors, and is able to travel up to 150 km in 5 hours. The logistics company Gebrüder Weiss is supporting the team by transporting the vehicle and all the necessary equipment to Chile. Although the experimental vehicle is unable to replace a conventional truck due to its limited payload capacity, it is said to have a higher tractive force than a 40-ton semitrailer tractor. Reaching this summit would be a world record.
