Singapore's Vena Energy locks debt for 17-MW solar project in Japan
- Singapore-based independent power manufacturer (IPP) Vena Energy has gotten JPY 5.4 billion (USD 39.3 m/EUR 39.7 m) in debt to back the building and construction of a 17-MW solar park in Japan's Fukushima prefecture.
The green funding was extended through a co-financing system led by Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Fund Bank in Japan, the Singaporean programmer stated on Monday.
To be situated in the Tohoku region of Honshu island, the Nihonmatsu Kaminagaori photovoltaic or pv (PV) farm is anticipated to create enough electricity to cover the intake of greater than 4,000 neighborhood houses per year and also offset around 11,400 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The plant's commissioning is set up for following year.
Nihonmatsu Kaminagaori will be Vena Energy's 4th renewable energy plant in Fukushima prefecture. Also on the listing is the 35-MW Ono solar park that was placed on stream in the summer of 2020.
Last November, Vena Energy brought live a 37-MW solar PV park in Nagano prefecture. The company stated at the time it had 26 wind and solar energy facilities amounting to 516 MW in its Japanese functional portfolio.
