Serbia's Vida Project: 350-MW Wind-Solar Park Proposal Revealed

Renewables developer CWP Europe is planning to build a 350-MW wind-solar park in Serbia's eastern district of Zajecar. The project, known as the Vida project, will involve the installation of photovoltaic panels and wind turbine generators on 3,870 hectares of land. The plan also includes the construction of a substation, distribution switchgear, and a battery energy storage system.

The detailed proposal for the project was released by the city of Zajecar and is currently open for public review until the end of July. The project will be carried out by a special purpose vehicle called Vida Power, which is part of CWP Europe, a subsidiary of CWP Global. CWP Global has been active in Central and Eastern Europe since 2010 and is currently working on a portfolio of over 7 GW of wind, solar, and battery storage projects in Southeast Europe. Some of their operational assets in the region include the 158-MW Cibuk wind farm in Serbia and the 600-MW Fantanele-Cogealac wind park in Romania.
