German energy company RWE AG has completed the commissioning of an 8.5-MW solar farm in Poland, marking the first of many solar projects the company plans to build in the country. The Bojanowo East solar park is part of RWE's expansion efforts in its Polish core market, with more than 100 MW of solar farms in the pipeline.

Located in the Wielkopolskie region in central Poland, the Bojanowo East solar farm consists of over 17,800 solar modules. RWE is also collaborating with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan on a biomonitoring pilot project to assess biodiversity conditions at solar farms. In addition to its solar projects, RWE operates 541 MW of wind farms and 54 MW of solar capacity in Poland, with plans for its first offshore wind project, the 350-MW F.E.W. Baltic II scheme.
