RWE fires up 60MW battery in Ireland
- The Lisdrumdoagh project will help balance intermittency in electrical energy generation

RWE has brought online the 60MW Lisdrumdoagh battery storage space project in County Monaghan, Ireland.
The facility can supplying the fast shipment of power into the power grid to help equilibrium intermittency in electricity generation, the business said.
It also offers a short term back-up to help deal with power outages, as well as to maintain an extra stable and secure power supply in Ireland.
The website is the 2nd battery storage space facility that RWE has brought online in Ireland.
It's first 8.5 MW project is located in Stephenstown, Balbriggan, in County Dublin as well as went reside in April last year.
RWE Renewables Ireland handling director Cathal Hennessy claimed: "We have invested EUR25m in Lisdrumdoagh to develop utility-scale battery storage, in a market which is currently committed to renewable resources, as well as which offers committed support for battery storage.
" Ireland is an outstanding starting point for RWE Renewables as we seek to broaden and expand our battery storage innovation business as well as become a crucial companion in Ireland's low carbon energy shift."
