RES has submitted plans to the Barbergh District Council for a proposed 20-MW solar farm, coupled with storage, in the village of Boxted, South Suffolk district. It is expected to produce enough power to meet electricity needs of about 8,900 homes and cut carbon dioxide emissions by 13,000 tonnes during its lifetime. The scheme includes the installation of solar panels, battery storage, inverters and a substation, and landscape mitigation and biodiversity measures that take into consideration feedback from the local community. RES has already delivered more than 23 GW of renewable energy projects across the world and is currently consulting on early plans for a large renewable energy project next to the recently decommissioned West Burton power station in Nottinghamshire.
