What Benefits Will Japan's 15-MW/48-MWh Battery System Provide?

  • The battery system will help address the shortage of electric power in the Himeji region of Hyogo Prefecture and will contribute to the stabilization of the local power grid.
  • The battery system will store electricity from renewable sources such as solar and wind, allowing the region to use clean energy more effectively.
  • The battery system will provide peak shifting, allowing electricity to be stored during times of low demand and then released when needed.
  • The battery system will also provide ancillary services to the grid, such as frequency regulation and voltage support.
  • The battery system will help reduce energy costs for the region by facilitating the trading of electricity in the market.
